Pride was so powerful for me. You can see it in the smile I have in this picture and when I look back in 20 years, I will be so glad I didn’t let my anxiety and fear of rejection stop me from getting out that day. You wouldn’t think that someone that writes songs for a living and is globally known would hide so much pain underneath their smile, but believe me when I tell you my journey hasn’t been easy. We should love more. We should care more. We should judge less. We should praise differences instead of reject people that are different. Watch how you talk to the people you love and what you say to them. Even if you’re angry, if you care about them, think about what you say before you say it and think about how it will affect them. If you never take their feelings into consideration they may get tired of you treating them like shit and won’t want to talk to you anymore. If you really love someone, you should still care about them even when you’re mad at them.
